Elsa Reichmanis Named to the Inaugural Class of ACS Fellows

August 10, 2009 - Elsa Reichmanis was named to the inaugural class of American Chemical Society (ACS) Fellows. She is honored for "true excellence" in her "contributions to the chemical enterprise coupled with distinctive service to ACS or to the broader world of chemistry." Indeed, Dr. Reichmanis was President of the American Chemical Society in 2003, and has shared her experiences in national service with CMDITR graduate students and postdocs at the 2009 Annual Retreat in Tucson, AZ. Reichmanis joined GeorgiaTech's Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering after serving as Bell Labs Fellow and the Director of Materials Research at Alcatel-Lucent. Her honors include the 2001 Perkin Medal, the 1999 American Chemical Society Award in Applied Polymer Science, membership in the National Academy of Engineering and designation as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
